Season by Season, the Poconos Shines Year-Round
The Poconos delights year-round making it one of the premier destinations in the northeast. Here are our recommendations of things to do and see from winter to summer.
WINTER
When you think of the Poconos, you naturally think of the white snow-covered mountains and getting cozy by the fireplace. When you stay at our house, you will be close to the best winter activities.
Jack Frost is just 25 minutes away. This ski resort is the first resort in PA to open year after year.
Big Boulder, part of the Jack Frost resort complex, is just 15 minutes away. Come here for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and more.
Camelback is about 35 minutes from the house and was voted #1 resort for skiing in Pennsylvania.
Blue Mountain, a 25 minute drive from the house, features PA’s highest vertical and the longest runs on 40 slopes.
SPRING
While you can still enjoy the last of the slopes (historically the last week in March or first week of April), the Poconos bloom in the spring! Take on the fun at the Pocono Raceway, also known as the Tricky Triangle, just 15 minutes from the house. If you have spring fever by early April, explore the many beautiful hiking and biking trails.
SUMMER
There is so much to do here throughout the summer! When you stay at the house, you’ll enjoy privileges to the Towamensing Trails swimming pool, lake with beach, volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts.
If you love water parks, head to Camelback, voted the nation’s #1 adventure waterpark. Adults can enjoy time in the private cabanas or a trip down the lazy river, while the kids (or the kid in you) enjoy thrills and spills with slides and more waterpark attractions than any other park in the Poconos.
FALL
One of the most beautiful and underrated times to visit the Poconos, you won’t regret heading to the area this time of year. Vibrant colors and cooler temps give you spectacular mountain views you can’t find anywhere else. Hike or bike, plan a day trip to historic Jim Thorpe or rent ATVs at the various outdoor parks.
